"Welcome to a new monthly free-style morning dance. Our intention is to gather in community, and become more connected to our body and to each other. We will start with a warmup then dive into a wave of ecstatic dance. The music will lead us from slow mellow tempo, to juicy world bass beats, high vibration peak, and playful, heart-opening melodies."

Years of I-Opener events later we're a thriving ever-expanding dance community! Our events started with 40 devoted movers and now attract hundreds... weaving together a blissful morning of connection, co-creation, and dance!!!

We're super excited to bring this event to our NYC dance tribe and offer our unique flavor of experience... combining art.. connection... introspection... nourishment... awareness... and incredible music from around the world ... I-Opener aims to lift your spirit, move your body, and expand your being into full expression and ecstatic bliss.

Move as you wish a in a judgement-free space, all ages and backgrounds welcome, engage as little or as much as you like. You may participate in the dance or just enjoy witnessing. The music is a colorful mix of world fusion balancing electronic and organic flavors weaving in elements of tribal beats, latin melodies, world base, festival house, soulful acapella, and much more! There’s interactive art, space for prayer or meditation, an area for flow toys, a kids corner with family actives, community networking hub, chill zone, and room to express yourself as the music inspires you.

Warmup - Rachel Santos

Rachel is a practitioner of Healing Touch, Reiki, and a huge range of bodywork modalities. She teaches Tao Tantric Arts and Universal Healing Tao Chi-Kung, as well as Anahata Yoga and the 5-Element Form: A Dance of Shiva and Shakti. Rachel is trained in Sacred Cacao Dance Ceremony and so much more from her beloved friend and mentor Daisy Kaye. She lives in gratitude for all of her guides and teachers in performing arts, dance, ritual, ecology and healing arts. www.hearton.life

Artist - DJ Luminus

Marek is an international DJ and facilitates events and workshops throughout New England and around the world. He has over eleven years of experience working as a Focusing therapist and has extensive training in Internal Family Systems. He's passionate about discovering places in the body that hold distress, accessing them and allowing them to heal through self-love and creative expression. As a DJ he plays a colorful mix of world fusion, balancing electronic & organic flavors for ecstatic dances, CI jams & festivals. www.djluminus.com

Ceremony Leader - Sarah Monette

Sarah leads Authentic Relating events throughout the Northeast and abroad to help individuals and collectives discover more meaningful ways of interacting and promote deeper connections within communities through Synthesis Connection - Authentic Relating. She’s trained in psychosynthesis, mediation, and facilitates a variety of compassionate communication and ecstatic dance events. Sarah has a passion for relational systems and interpersonal growth, leaning into our edges and discovering the many layers of connection at both gatherings and in our everyday lives.
